<h2>The Art of Leadership: Knowing the Way isnt leading the Way.</h2>Dear NOW Woman,It has been a little while since i came your way, but today I am excited to come your way and think with you on this week's weekly wisdom as we focus on "Leadership".Leadership is often seen as an art form, a delicate balance of skill and intuition that can guide individuals and organizations towards success. Whether you are a CEO, a team manager, or an aspiring leader, mastering the art of leadership is crucial for achieving your goals and inspiring others to do the same.One of my personal mentors -John C Maxwell defined leadership as this: Leadership is influence, nothing more, nothing less!Do you agree with him? Well whether you do or not, let‘s explore this topic of Leadership together shall we?.Quote:​ A leader is the one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way! - John C Maxwell.TIP: Every leader in any organisation, institution, system and even as we lead in our homes and business, requires us to know the way ahead, know the vision, the plans, the steps required to produce certain results, the resources need and so much more. However in our present day, what we give back to the next generation or perhaps those coming up behind us is even more crucial.To know the way is one thing , however the real testing is in how we walk this journey and how we show the way to others.Today i want to share with you my own journey in leadership and how i have come to walk the way and show the way through what i have learnt from my mentors. The Art of Leadership: Knowing the way isnt Leading the WAY

Hello my dear friend!Wow, it is another new week and its my greatest joy to come your way with our weekly wisdom.This week our focus is on the line between the past and the future!<h3>Quote:​ Dont let your past stop you in the present, and wipe out your future. It is a time to learn from, not a place to dwell.</h3>TIP: Certain incidents in our lives tend to hold us back, at times it even discourages us from living life and we can almost feel the taste of pain in our mouths. It can be hard, no doubt about it.The question then becomes "what can you do"? Research tells us that dweling on your pain is not healthy for ayone, its not healthy for your body, not healthy for your mind and simply not healthy for anything or anyone, you suffer and everyone suffers too around you.The good news today is the fact that you still have a future, and a life to live! Whether it is pain from losing a job, a crushing marriage or relationship, losing a child, or losing a close family member or friend, always remember you have to learn from the experience, buckle up and move on.I would like to take amoment to share with you my own personal story... Over a decade ago, someone attempted to take my life and my baby in broad daylight! It traumatised me to no end and would have been so easy for my family and I to dwell in the pain of the situation however we chose to rejoice and give thanks for the fact that we were still alive and therefore we could heal from the trauma and the pain.You see, the truth is this, It is not always so easy to make such choices, although I hold a qualification in Psychology and also as a qualified counsellor, I absolutely knew what would be best for me personally and emotionally but yet it took me a lot of years to truly let that pain go, forgave this person and found my freedom. Why do i share you may ask, well because, often you hear people share their stories and there is a temptation to compare ourselves, our situation and if not careful we can dig an even deeper hole of despair for ourselves.So I want you to be encouraged that even if you know whats best for you, you may not always feel like drawing a sand in the line there and then, but there is hope!<figure id="figure-7k4jwvkc2luj581hc"><img id="7k4jwvkc2luj581hc" src="https://cdn.durable.co/blocks/2adKtGInj9BBF70E2zkAOmgLCJvZRWGw1WzR3bwudPqVjPCJavYCPNUwHMvv3wps.png" alt="" title="" class="object-cover bg-gray-100 rounded-sm md:rounded-md lg:rounded-lg" style="aspect-ratio: 16/9; object-position: center center;" data-corners="default" data-aspect="16:9" data-caption="" data-positionX="undefined" data-positionY="undefined" data-fullWidth="false"/></figure>Practical Application :​ Find that safe place, get help, get a counsellor or at least someone you trust to share your feelings and thoughts, but no matter what happens, the one thing you MUST NEVER DO is to suppress, hide, pretend, lie, or dismiss how you feel - be true to yourself!Question : Why hold on to the very thing that keeps you bound, starved of hope, leaves you in despair takes you away from Love and so much more that your future holds?Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. The line between the past and the future!

It is my prayer and hope that over the weekend you had some time to take a little pause to write down what you are grateful for in your life right now, I promise you there is so much power in doing this simple exercise, so to introduce this week's wisdom, I want to encourage you to try it!This week our focus as you may have guessed is all about "Trying".<blockquote>Quote:​ It’s not how many times you fall, it’s how many times you get back up. Palmer titled Try, Try again“Tis a lesson you should heed,Try, try again;If at first you don’t succeed,Try, try again;Then your courage should appear,For if you will persevere, You will conquer, never fear;Try, try again.<h3>Practical Application :​</h3>Think about different ways you can try to achive a solution or an answer, who do you know that you can ask? <h2>It's already the end of the 1st quarter of the year! How quickly time flies!</h2>It is a beautiful sunny Monday here and again it is such an honour for me to come your way and think with you on this week's weekly wisdom as we focus on "Friendship".I don't know about you, but in my life my friends have played a very big part of it, some for good and some were pretty bad experiences and thankfully it gave me life long lessons that will continue to shape me for the better.I have always believed in the power of friendship, its no secret but when you find the right ones, they really can make a big positive impact on you. What you must always remember is that you actually don't need that many, you only need a few. That said, let's take a look at the subject in hand for this week.<blockquote>Quote:​ "In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends." Martin Luther King.</blockquote>TIP: Dont be a friend when its most suited to you, reach out, check in on your friends, perceive a need and meet it without any expectations. Find ways to be a voice of support to your friends, just don't be a fair weather friend. Whenever possible speak up for and on behalf of your friends when required.Practical Application : 1) Take a pause and write down 3-5 friends you are most grateful for in your life right now and write a little gratitude note next to thier name.&nbsp; 2) Then send a little voice note, text, email or WhatsApp to let them know you are grateful for them being in your life. 3) Write down how you felt after doing this exercise, and do share your experince with us. ​ ​Question : What role do friends play in your life?Now that we have this out of the bag, and we are all going to strive to be better in our friendships, how about a little test?Until next week, remember to put into practice the tips on how to be that wonderful friend to your friends too!Sending you my love and blessings for your week.Dr Tina Allton &amp; the NOW Team
